About the Library

The Library, opened in March of 1991, is named in honour and memory of Bora Laskin (1912-1984), one of the founding figures of the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law. As a faculty member, he was an outstanding scholar, particularly in the fields of constitutional and labour law.

The Library's extensive collection, supports the curriculum and research interests of the Faculty of Law . It includes primary legal materials from the major common law countries such as Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom as well as from other selected jurisdictions. The Library subscribes to over 700 scholarly legal periodicals from around the world and collects legal and law-related texts and treatises.

The Library subscribes to a rich array  of electronic services which extend the Library's resources far beyond its own walls. Access to these resources is available to eligible library users through the library catalogue or the library's electronic database collection.
