COVID and Summer 2022 Access

Library Hours:

On Thursday, April 28, we will begin our summer hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Please see this page for more information.

*Please note that we are open only to current U of T Faculty of Law students, staff, and faculty

COVID Protocols:

Masks will continue to be required in the Library. If a patron loses or breaks a mask, we will have spare masks at the Circulation Desk. Group study rooms continue to be booked online. Please ensure to distance yourself from other patrons. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes are located throughout the Library.

Electronic Resources and eBooks:

The Law Library subscribes to a significant number of legal databases. In addition to these databases, we have purchased access to a large number of eBooks published by Irwin Law, Edward Elgar, LexisNexis, and Thomson Reuters, and we recently acquired access to approximately 60 titles from the Emond Publishing Casebook collection. If there are eBooks that you need for your research please let us know and we will endeavour to acquire access. You can check the online availability of the Winter term's course readings here.

The Print Collection:

The print collection, including Course Reserves and Stacks, is once again available to the law school community.

U of T students and faculty outside of the law school can request Law Library books through the catalogue by using the "Library Pickup" service. Sign into the catalogue with your UTORid, find your book(s), open the full catalogue record, and click on "Library Pickup," complete the form and select from Robarts, UTSC, or UTM, and click on Send Request. Library staff will retrieve the print material from the Stacks. You will be notified via e-mail when your requested items are available for pick-up at Robarts Library. For print course reserves and short-term loan items, contact the Library and we will endeavour to scan and deliver via e-mail portions of the book to the extent permitted by copyright law.

Reference and Research Support

Law Librarians are available to provide reference and research support remotely by phone, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or email. Please contact them directly or through law.ref@utoronto.ca.
