This document is a review and appraisal of the progress made in national implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (PFA). The report is based on the responses to the questionnaire distributed by the United Nations (UN) secretariat to all member and observer states. The report begins with an introduction and background to the report. Part two provides an overview of the major trends in implementation of the PFA.

Indigenous Women beyond the ten-year review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action

This resolution of the Commission on the Status of Women follows the 10 year review of the Beijing Declaration. The resolution reaffirms the recommendations on Indigenous Women from the Third Session of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Peoples, with an emphasis upon equality and non-discrimination. Governments and civil society are recognized as needing to ensure that Indigenous women are able to fully participate in the implementation and monitoring of the rights under the Beijing Platform.

Draft Resolution on an Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women

This is the draft resolution submitted by the Commission on the Status of Women for adoption by the General Assembly on the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women. The Optional Protocol was adopted by the General Assembly on October 6, 1999 and entered into force December 21, 2000.
