An umbrella organization established in 1974 for cooperation between non-governmental organizations in Europe concerned with refugees, The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) currently has member agencies in the majority of European countries. This site includes full-text position papers and research papers on a variety of topics relevant to the European context including interpreting international law and developing the law of the European Union on immigration and refugees. Most of these papers deal with the needs of women within the overall refugee context.
