This publication by UNIFEM was produced in response to Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000). The publication identifies that war has become highly gendered and, consequently, a measured response to addressing the concerns of women in conflict situations and the peacebuilding process is essential. UNIFEM's efforts to ensure that the international commitments made in Resolution 1325 are honoured are highlighted in this publication. Part I addresses information, early warning and conflict prevention.
