This book is a study into state intervention regarding discrimination against women and girls, and specifically into gender hierarchies and stereotypes that feed gender-based violence (GBV). Using various documentation such as international and regional jurisprudence, as well as CEDAW reports, Elisabeth Henn creates an in-depth study of GBV’s overall scope and the primary and secondary obligations that states have in addressing GBV. Henn then outlines a number of short- and long-term measures against GBV that will work to end violence against women and girls internationally.
