This report by the Special Rapporteur on the Human Rights Aspects of the Victims of Trafficking in Persons, Especially Women and Children, argues for greater focus on the human rights of women in combating sex trafficking. The report begins by briefly discussing the Special Rapporteur's activities throughout 2005. Section II focuses on the relationship between trafficking and the demand for commercial sexual exploitation. Discussions on the definition of trafficking in the UN Trafficking Protocol and the concept of demand are also included.
