Poverty, Gender and Human Trafficking in Sub-Saharan Africa: Rethinking Best Practices in Migration Management

This study examines trafficking of women and children in Sub-Saharan Africa and the conditions that fuel smuggling and trafficking, focusing on poverty and governance issues. The aim of the study is to identify strategies that effectively mitigate human rights violations that occur throughout the migration process. The study begins by exploring the links between poverty, migration and gender against the background of neoliberal economic policies.
