against women persists on an astounding scale
across the globe. Its prevalence serves as a
barrier to development, equality, and peace. Not
only does the violence affect the victims
themselves, but how women across the world view
their roles and potential. In contrast, the
article recognizes that the international
responsibility of states has been widened, along
with attention and consciousness to the issue.
