The compilation and analysis of legal norms relevant to internally displaced persons aims to restate obligations under existing international human rights and humanitarian law and to identify areas where existing international law does not respond adequately to the protection and assistance needs of internally displaced persons. Section 6 of the report focuses on gender-specific violence facing displaced persons and comprehensively reviews the international legal instruments relevant to the protection of women from gender-based violence.
