Property Law and Housing Rights

The right to property and housing is recognized as a fundamental human right and is included in the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Around the world, women remain limited both in accessing the legal status to acquire and control property and in securing appropriate housing for themselves and their families.
