The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the main United Nations (UN) policy-making body to promote women's rights in political, economic, civil, social and economic fields. The object of the Commission is to promote implementation of the principle that men and women shall have equal rights. This website provides an overview of the CSW's functions and membership, documents from its annual sessions, and details on the CSW's follow-up to Beijing including the implementation of the Platform for Action (PFA), implementation of the critical areas of concern, gender mainstreaming, and emerging issues.
